Week #3 Share your classroom.
I can finally cross out “set up classroom” off my to do list…sort of. EVERYTHING is not done, but enough is done and I’m actually okay with that.
So, let’s take a look.
Here’s a panoramic view of the room from the front. I was inspired by Schoolgirl Styles’ Rainbow Chalkboard decor.
My teacher area. I usually don’t have one this elaborate as to maximize space, but this year I want to be more organized have are nice place to work in. The Process and Fast Learning signs came from Sarah at Math = Love (I used A LOT of stuff from her room…thanks for sharing!), the I love math signs came from 4mulafun’s store.
This year is all about changing the mindset of my students. I want to be confident in what they can do while learning math. Thanks again Sarah!
This is the class info board. It will have lesson info, class announcements, the date and the quote of the week.
This blank board will be my “How to Learn” board that shows the process of learning a new skill using standard base grading. My hope is it have it done before my students walk in on Tuesday.
These boards will be used to display class data and student work.
My soon to be math library with missing work folders and resources for ISNs.
My curtains. First time I’ve ever put up curtains in my room. I think they look nice.
The front of the room.
Overall, I am pleased. It’s the most work I have ever put in setting up a room. It’s still a work in progress, but I hope it makes my students feel welcomed and ready to learn.
In my quest to become a regular blogger, I am participating in the #mtboschallenge on twitter. It’s a challenge to blog once a week for the rest of 2014. So, I’ve linked up with Sherri over at Middle School Math Rules! Here we go!
3 things I need to accomplish this week:
1) Setting up my classroom. I don’t think I am going to have enough time next week with all the PDs my principal scheduled.
2) Lesson plans for the first 4 weeks of school.
3) Clean my house. If it doesn’t get done before school starts I don’t think it will ever be done. smh
2 things I am letting go for now:
1) Procrastination – no more sitting thinking about what needs to be done. Let’s get’er done!
2) Worry – don’t worry be happy. Everything that needs to be done will be done and it’s going to all right.
1 thing I need to remember:
Get everything done that needs to be done so you can have time to RELAX before the kids come back on the Sept. 2.
